Sven Christiansen is a privately owned British furniture manufacturing company, established in 1974. Their factory is in Kingswinford, West Midlands with showrooms in Great Portland Street, London, and Guildford, which are all open to our clients to view firsthand the quality and variety of the product ranges available.
Sven manufacture a very wide range of high quality furniture for general and executive offices, for conference and meeting rooms, for receptions and for many other applications. Sven seating complements the furniture which enables us to provide a comprehensive package.

Sven operate a Quality Management System that meets the requirements of BS EN ISO 9001, certificated by BSI. They build furniture to last: all Sven furniture is guaranteed for five years (three years for moving parts), but there are many sites installed more than fifteen years ago which are still providing faultless service.
Sven’s investment in sophisticated computerised machinery enables them to manufacture very efficiently and keep their prices low. They also employ highly skilled craftsmen to carry out the operations that are beyond the abilities of even the best machines. This enables them to offer a comprehensive range of solutions to suit all applications and environments.
Sven Christiansen and the Environment
Sven operate an Environmental Management System that meets the requirements of BS EN ISO 14001, certificated by BSI. They hold FSC Chain of Custody for an ever-increasing proportion of their timber raw materials (please contact us for full details of the products and materials that are covered under the FSC certification).
Sven undertake ongoing review of their products, raw materials and processes with the objective of continual improvement in their environmental performance. To minimise their waste to landfill they have invested in a wood burning furnace with clean‑air afterburners, which disposes of much of their waste timber and extracted dust. The furnace reduces the amount of waste timber going to landfill and also provides heating for their factory. Sven are fully committed to eliminating or reducing the environmental impact of their operations wherever possible.
Important notes about veneers and hardwood timbers
We use solid hardwoods and wood veneers whose varying grain and figure emphasise the natural beauty and individuality of the wood. No two pieces of timber are identical, and there will be natural variations in hue, grain and figure, and both knots and colouring arising from natural minerals in the wood. Bamboo also exhibits variations in colour and pattern. None of these variations or features are faults: they are simply proof of the natural origin of the product. Please note that most timbers and veneers either lighten or darken on exposure to light. Should you add additional items at a later date, there may be an initial colour mismatch that should even out over a period of time.
Colour accuracy
Due to variations in lighting and the limitations of the printing process, variations in colour may occur between the illustrations in this brochure and manufactured items. Samples of all our finishes are available on request from our Customer Service Department.
